All other pineapple rice can go down the list, this fried rice has umami with each mouthful. Unlike most other pineapple fried rice where the pineapple taste is rather shallow, this feels like the rice has been marinated with pineapple. The curry powder helps to balance the taste out.
Kanom Jeen Sao Naam ขนมจีนซาวน้ำ – 180thb
Fermented rice vermicelli served with light sweet coconut sauce accompanied by fresh chopped pineapple, ginger, thinly sliced garlic, dried shrimp and a slice of lime
This was the most surprising of the bunch. It looks like it should taste salty but ends up tasting like a dessert!
The sweetness of the coconut sauce with the sourness of the lime gives it a unique (in a positive way) kind of taste.
