I needed a new earpiece for workouts for the longest time since my Sony headphones are giving way.
My criteria are :
- In-ear Headset
- Easy to carry around while travelling
- Price point must be friendly
- Must like it within 10mins of listening
I don’t want to spend too much time on picking a headset because what I value now is, hence the best I can get at the price I am willing to pay.
Alright, enough with the background story. Let’s start the super short review on CX Sport!
Usage
Firstly comfort factor is ok. The in-ear adapter not soft enough for me but I do have some existing ones from previous earphones to change and try. I’m not sure what the ear fins are for.
As a result, after first day of listening, I unconsciously wore it on my ear, without wanting to remove it whether the music is playing or not.
Function
All buttons makes sense and are pretty straightforward.
- The + button is for volume up. Press and hold to skip to the next track.
- The – button is for volume down. Press and hold to go back to the previous track.
- The centre button is to Stop/pause. Press and hold to answer calls.
Sound Quality
Now we come to the highlight of this earbud. As usual Sennheiser produces decent earphones. I was given the option between Jays M6 and CX Sport to choose from.
Honestly if I want neutral sounds during leisure listening setting, Jays will be the one. There is a sense of excitement to the Jays m6 earphone.
However, it lacks what I’m looking for in a earbud for Workout and HIIT.
Therefore, within my 30 mins audit. The choice went to Sennheiser CX Sport.
It has what I want for the reason that there is punch in the bass and clarity when needed. Also the highs won’t cause ear fatigue (Yes, I know I am asking for quite bit for a budget earbud).
Colour wise, it stands out little. I won’t go into aesthetics because this is not the best looking earphone.
I’m pretty satisfied with what this S$160 in-ear headset can do for me.
