I spent 3 days to process on this case.
Between mistakes and responsibilities, right and wrong. What lessons should we learn from such tragedy?
How can anyone be so inhumane toward a helpless child? To unleash terrible abuse for 13 months and still be allowed to stand in court as a human?
No resolution can be found in news outlets, they presented concise facts and angles to stir emotions, that is understandable.
I turned stones to find if there could be any materials to provide some personal answer. And I found it in the High court proceedings.
it was a 40 minute read on the court sentence. Taxing yet necessary, because I cannot resolve the questions I had before.
This case left me with great dissatisfaction about living life and the subject about fairness. The only way, is to see or read on the available fact in it’s entirety (evidences), and judge the matter according to the law.
I cannot imagine what went through minds of investigating officials who witnessed 7 footages of insults and acts of humiliation leashed out on Megan. (Video clips roughly total up to 12 minutes or more)
I found, indeed there is a system to measure justice. Sentence meted out was well put out and citations supported by other cases, strangely comforting. Simply because it acknowledged what Megan went through and the law will execute judgement.
Outcome wasn’t the best personally, but I was convinced by the verdict,
No there are no winners. No good lessons, no moral of the story, there is nothing in this world that could justify this tragedy.
If there is just one tiny thought I can share as a personal closure.
To little “Megans” who are still in this world. You are not a mistake. You are not responsible for your parent’s mistakes. You are young, courageous and strong.
You can withstand those abuse and grow up to be a decent human being.
You still have a chance.
if you ever read this post, and if you are a abused child in the past.
Remember, Megan was never given the chance to grow up.

On 09 April 2025 ST wrote an article about Megan’s case and paved new enchantment plans to future intervene child abuse by Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).
Info from Megan Khung’s pre-school gave no reason for ECDA to suspect girl’s abuse: MSF

We have to thank everyone’s effort on the focus given to Megan’s case so much so that the relevant agencies have acted swiftly. In hopes to prevent future tragedies from happening.
