Ok I’m writing something crazy. How can i say something so silly? As to even relate Naruto anime to Dr Jordan Peterson’s lectures!
But yes, The more I listen to Dr. Peterson, The more lightbulbs in my mind lit “That’s Naruto!?” I recalled. And the more I thought about it, the more Naruto’s characters, their struggles, thoughts, pain, and suffering are all reasonably similar to ours.
Naruto story also talks about Inner Demons, Potential, and talents. The insecurities in the society, harsh realities, and sacrifices we have to make.
Although, there are arguments that Naruto has everything in for him, he have the best of everything in the story. His parentage, teachers and the Hidden Nine Tail powers.
But what if we also have everything we need within us! What if we just are blind or oblivious to how much we are given?
What if we have what it takes to do much more than we thought? That’s exactly what I’m hearing from Dr. Peterson.
Speak Up and Articulate
Yup I struggled for 1 week to write this post, but then again. Writing articulates thoughts and I quote him:
No one ever tells student what they should write something, It’s like well you have to do this assignment, well why are you writing?
Dr Jordan B Peterson
Well you need the grade. It’s like no!
You need to Learn to think.
Because thinking makes you act effectively in the world, thinking make you won the battles you undertake and thise coiuld nbe battles for good things.
If you can think and speak and write you are absolutely deadly!
Nothing can get in your way….That’s why you learn to write.
Naruto spoke alot on promises, in fact he kept talking so much that I see people have been saying he simply is talking too much and not making sense. But he actually fulfills most of what he said. About Peace, justice, pain and suffering and love.
Sometimes I found myself fast forwarding the video stream because Naruto simply talks too much! But the point is, he speaks forward for what he wants in his life and he literally take small steps to act it out.
This is the part where Dr Peterson actually talks clearly about speaking up or pay the price.
In this video at 1:46 i cite:
All right i’m going to say what i think
“Stupid as i am”,
“Biased as i am”,
“Ignorant as i am”.I’m going to state what i think as clearly as i can and i’m going to live with the consequences no matter what they are.
And in 2:08
You’re going to pay a price, for every bloody thing you do and everything you don’t do, you don’t get to choose to not pay a price.
You get to choose which poison you’re going to take that’s it.
So if you’re going to stand up for something stand up for your truth
It’ll shape you because people will respond an object and tell you why you’re a fool and a biased moron and why you’re ignorant and then if you listen to them.
You’ll be just that less much less like that (less of a moron and ignorant) the next time you say something, if you do that for five years.
You’ll be so damn tough and articulate and able to communicate and withstand pressure that you won’t even recognize yourself.
And then you’ll be a force to contend with.
Continually Failing Forward
There are many videos I watched that say Naruto has been blessed with all the right pedigree and with Nine Tails Fox sealed with him. Maybe there’ll always be 2 camps of people. I belong to the empathy camp, Naruto has been suffering in his teenage years, where he struggled to manage his own demons, emotions and Nine Tail Fox.
Like many have said, the Nine Tail Fox (Kurama) constantly wants to take over Naruto and get out of his body.
He is very talented but not wise in using his talents. (He got better as Jiraya guided him)
Naruto learns things fast, but he never was able to use the skills he attain to the fullest. And from the series we can see how he slowly change and get better. We are all the same, we get better at what we have only by using the skills we have. There’s no other way to improve. That’s something to think about.
I Cite Dr Peterson here:
You might be interested in things, that are wrapped and bent, and often it’s the case tthat when new parts of people manifest themselves and grip their interests.
Say they do it very badly and shoddily and so you stumbled around like an idiot when you try to do something new! That’s why, the fool is the precursor to the savior. From the symbolic perspective. So you have to be a fool before you can be a master and if you’re not willing to be a fool then you can’t be a master.
So it’s an error error ridden process
Dr Jordan Peterson – Anything Worth Doing is Worth Doing Badly 01:34 – 01:56
Well, first of all you’re paralyzed. You think..”well, how do I know if i should pursue?”
That it’s probably a stupid idea and the proper response to that is –
You’re right! It probably is a stupid idea!
Because almost all ideas are stupid! And so the probability that as you move forward on your adventure, that you’re going to get it right the first time is 0.It’s just not going to happen and so then you might think…” well… maybe I’ll just wait around until i get the right idea.” Which people do, right???
So they’re like 40 year old(body) 13 year olds(mind) which is not a good idea.
So they wait around until it’s waiting for gadot, until they finally got it right. But the problem is you’re too stupid to know when you’ve got it right!
So waiting around isn’t going to help.
Because even if it the perfect opportunity manifested itself to you, in your incomplete form.
The probability that you would recognize it as the perfect opportunity is zero!
You might even think it’s the worst possible idea, that you’ve ever heard of anywhere. Highly likely… Highly likely.
So Neitzhce called that, a Will to Stupidity, which i really liked.
Because he thought of stupidity as being it you know it’s it’s you have to take it into account fundamentally and work with it and so and so.You can take these tentative steps on your pathway to destiny.
Dr Jordan Peterson – Anything Worth Doing is Worth Doing Badly 03:13 – 04:42
And you can assume that you’re going to do it badly and that’s really useful, because you don’t have to beat yourself up!
It’s pretty easy to do it badly but The thing is it’s way better to do it badly than not do it at all!
And that’s a hell of a lot better than just rotting away at home!
The fact that you’re full of faults doesn’t mean you have to stop.
Anything Worth Doing is Worth Doing Badly 10:47 – 10:51
You’re full of faults doesn’t mean you can’t learn.
So it doesn’t matter that is imperfect,
it just matters that you do it,
and that you move forward.
Uchiha and Sharingan
The Uchiha clan with Sharingan powers has Anti-social behavior, and the other clans seemed to be wary of the Uchiha clan because of their powers. What’s interesting is that the powers are transferable. Uchiha Clan is also more detached and emotionless.
The Sharingan eyes are activated by witnessing incidents that cause some sort of Post Traumatic Disorder. I am more inclined to say it’s the Eyes of Truth, the more we see and understand the truth about life. The more we will unlock powers to cope or overcome issues.
It also moves a naive childlike person to maturity faster than normal.
Our eyes are the window to what we perceive, hence we will become what we process as truth. It’s also a form of awakening or enlightenment. But it all depends on how the welder perspective of the truth.
Sharingan eyes can see internally a people’s inner body or thoughts. The powers are pretty psychoanalytic in nature.
And Susanoo somehow represents a highly talented and antisocial person who activates the defensive and offensive stance to hit on a person or party. Highly defensive and can be extremely destructive at the same time. Susanoo is pretty much impenetrable. Extremely guarded to prevent any more losses.
Sharingan Powers can weld time and perception just like how psychoanalyst would. They have the uncanny ability to see things in very far end of time. They also will perceive what are they targets going to do in the next 2-5 steps. (Like Marvel’s Dr. Strange)
And seem to be better at strategies and may even be able to tell endgame. But there’s a price to pay. It will strain the body.
Sacrifices And Tragedy

This theme is unique on its own.
I have to quote Ideapod: 4 Reasons for Living
Deaths and tragedy are pretty heavy in Naruto Shippuden era. (which I am more inclined to) because author scale the worldview kicked up to another level.
There’s a lot of problems in the world level and things are no where near good. The main characters are forced to face Malevolence and make decisions like an adult.
Regardless of how naive and positive, there will be times when matters are not under your control. The Chain reaction of the different countries terrorist also portray reality of tension of inter states relationship.
Understand shadows
Everyone have their own Monster to deal with.

Conclusion
Naruto (Shippuden) is more true to life than I thought. Regrettably, plot holes are obvious toward the end. Nonetheless the overall understanding is – Everyone have a role to play in all things and choices connect to one another will develop the unknown future.
I have more to talk about regarding this. Let me formulate my thoughts and let’s see if I get any email (love or hate) to continue my writing. Lol.
Thanks for reading! Till then!
P.S: I was not able to put into words many suspected many theories I mused for close to 2 decades. These thoughts had tortured me for the longest time and it will end with extreme dissatisfaction of non closure.
When I hear about Dr Peterson. I think he’s right onto something…that’s where I follow his mind closely. He helped me unlock many questions and start looking into my own questions in another perspective.
