Gymsportz 30kg Regular Dumbbell Set

If you want to exercise and don’t need a social life outside, then you should be getting your own set at home. There isn’t a need to get changed and travel, it is also cheaper than any gym membership in the long run.

Searching for an affordable set led me to Decathlon. However I was put off by the way the weights were held on, it uses a snap on mechanism. I prefer my weights to be screwed on.

There were many options online but I found Gymsportz to have the best price. The 20kg Dumbbell set was going at $67, but I felt that in the long run I would need something heavier so I settled on the 30kg set at $91. Delivery would be an extra $15.

What you get is :

  • 4 x 0.5kg Rubberised plates
  • 4 x 1.25kg Rubberised plates
  • 8 x 2.5kg Rubberised plates

Assuming you are using both dumbbells at the same time, these are the weight combinations you are able to get for each dumbbell :

The weights add up to a total 27kg.

As you can see from the weight range, men and women can use this set for muscle building or toning.

Something doesn’t smell good

When the item is still new, the rubber smell can be overwhelming for some people. It will take about a week or so for the smell to go away.

And because the rubberised weights are rubbing (excuse the pun) against the thread as you remove them, small shavings of rubber or metal coating from the collars will come off. So I will vacuum my workout area after every session.

I am looking to get more stuff from Gymsportz, I’m aiming for the utility bench and also an ez curl bar.
