Declutter Project started from my trips to Japan, I consider a lot of aspects in life through a minimalist perspective after those trips.

It impacted on me when I stayed in the Airbnb homes in Tokyo. I realised how functional it is to have a small house with simple hardwares. They are extremely disaster savvy and their thought process goes beyond years.

There was this time when I was so sick of hoarding belongings simply because it took too much space! Nothing emotional about it, just simply because I was fed up with how it managed me instead of me managing the room. It has a deep representation of how I handled my life.

I had done lots of decluttering, but this Declutter Project it will be one major shit for year 2020. I don’t do new year resolution. There is only do or do not.

Declutter Project – Lets Start With 10X

Now I will aim to achieve possessing:
Long/Short Sleeved Shirt 10X
T-Shirt 10X
Outer Wear 10X
Shorts 5X
Pants/Jeans 5X
Watches 5X
Shoes 5X
Bags 5X

This is nothing philosophical. I just am quite sick of mass consumerism? I love what branded clothes can do to change the earth. I wish to be careful to say that I am still trying to wean from all consumer products. Very tough but hey, that’s why it’s a project!

Buying Cheap VS Buying Good

I am excited to go Tokyo and hopefully acquire some pre loved high end good quality from stores. The Pre Loved market in Tokyo are impressive. I will post more about the Second Hand stores in Tokyo in near future.
Obviously, this post is not for fashionistas who wants all things new in the fashion world. (Exaggerated).

I have to ask myself, do I wish to pay a high price for a good piece of clothing and stick with it for hopefully 2 years? The point of this project is to NOT succumb to consumerism and buy all things when it’s cheap (again, I am trying)

Now my wardrobe is generally filled with unworn wrap packages of clothing, This is because my wife buys her clothes from online store. Then it made me realise, I just bought it because it’s cheap and I don’t need to be bother over pricing. So what’s wrong?

But I want to care for the things I acquire and use it effectively.

17-22 October 2019: I am now in Tokyo. Going through many vintage shops and considering the prices for the pass few days. Will be making purchases today and tomorrow.
