On the 60th floor of UOB Plaza is Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant. But at the restaurant’s entrance sits the bar: Chuān @ The Sixtieth (川), the highest craft cocktail bar in Singapore, boasting expansive views of the city skyline.
Happy Hour starts at 5pm for 3 hours daily.
When you order 2 glasses of craft beers or single malt whisky, you will get a complimentary Chongqing Diced Chicken with Dried Chilli (U.P. $12).
Brewlander’s Grace 恩
(Happy Hour – $12, Normal Price – $16)
Available exclusively at Chuān @ The Sixtieth (川). Grace is a collaboration beer between Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant and award winning Singaporean brewery, Brewlander & Co.
A Kolsch infused with flavours of Lychee Black Tea. The tea leaves were added at various stages to extract only the desired aromas without tannins.
We were recommended to try the Brewlander’s Grace 恩 by the bartender. The beer was a full bodied beer with a hint of tea in the aftertaste.
Chongqing Diced Chicken with Dried Chilli
(Complimentary for Happy Hour, U.P. $12)
The Chongqing Diced Chicken with Dried Chilli packed a really big punch, the mala and spice lovers will definitely love this complimentary dish!
Bi Luo Chun Tea (碧螺春)
Bi Luo Chun Tea (碧螺春) was served while we waited for our food. Call us suaku but we were quite surprised to see that the hot water didn’t change colour by a lot when it was left to soak for a while. Yet when you drink it, there is a strong taste of green tea.
Roasted Beijing Duck (Served in two courses)
$70
They will slice the duck skin at next to your table and the server will ask if you would like to have them wrap it for you or if you want to do it yourself. We asked them to wrap half of it.
The duck skin wasn’t really crispy but they certainly didn’t go wrong with the taste.
The leftover duck was stir fried and you can wrap it in the lettuce provided.
Stir Fried Diced Beef with Sliced Garlic
(S)$28, (M)$42, (L)$56
We ordered the small portion and what a way to finish our dinner.
You can taste the wok hei on the outside and the beef was soft and tender on the inside.
The dark sauce wasn’t overpowering so you can enjoy the taste of the beef, fried garlic and onions.
AMERICAN EXPRESS PLATINUM CARD BENEFITS
Actually we were there for the 1 for 1 drink offer for card holders.
We later found out that the Amex Platinum discounts apply to the food as well! But we had to order 2 main dishes for the discount.
Since we were dining as 2 guests, it was 50% off the main dishes and the total damage (including drinks) was $84!!
How to get up there
When you get to the lobby of UOB Plaza, take the escalator to the 2nd floor and use the lift to get to the 38th floor.
From the 38th floor, turn left and take the other lift up to the 60th.
You’ll be greeted with this and the bar is just behind it. Happy eating / drinking!
